Ingredients
- Olive oil
- Chopped onion
- Minced Garlic
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 can tomato paste
- 3 cans Tuttarosa basil tomatoes
- 1 can dices tomatoes
- Chopped fresh basil
- Black pepper
- Italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup sugar
Directions
- In a big big pot cover the bottom with olive oil, med-low heat. Add coarse chopped onion and 3-4 teaspoons minced garlic.
- Sauté till onion clear do not burn the garlic. I throw in a half stick of butter too.
- Add 3 can Tutorosa with basil cans, one can of paste, 1 can diced tomatoes. Bring just to a boil.. and simmer.
- Add chopped fresh basil, teaspoon course black pepper, Italian seasoning, 1/3 to 1/2 cup of sugar Key - you never want the sauce to burn on the bottom… so adjust heat so just a very little bubble and watch it and stir.
