Ingredients

  • Olive oil
  • Chopped onion
  • Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 3 cans Tuttarosa basil tomatoes
  • 1 can dices tomatoes
  • Chopped fresh basil
  • Black pepper
  • Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Directions

  1. In a big big pot cover the bottom with olive oil, med-low heat. Add coarse chopped onion and 3-4 teaspoons minced garlic.
  2. Sauté till onion clear do not burn the garlic. I throw in a half stick of butter too.
  3. Add 3 can Tutorosa with basil cans, one can of paste, 1 can diced tomatoes. Bring just to a boil.. and simmer.
  4. Add chopped fresh basil, teaspoon course black pepper, Italian seasoning, 1/3 to 1/2 cup of sugar Key - you never want the sauce to burn on the bottom… so adjust heat so just a very little bubble and watch it and stir.
